There is a cabinet mounted on the wall outside the RMCC which is accessible to anyone 24 hours a day , seven days a week.
Inside the cabinet is an AED which is there to be used in an emergency. It is secured by a three digit combination lock.
In an emergency call 111 from your phone and ask for ambulance.
The operator will dispatch an ambulance, give medical advice and will give the address or the nearest AED. They will also give the combination for the Cabinet.
The AED is simple to operate; just open it up, turn it on and listen to the instructions.
The operator will also notify the PCSRT that the AED is being used and its location. This allows for the AED to be serviced and returned to its cabinet until it is next required.
